The beginning of the 20th ICVG congress is almost upon us. Everything is set up at Porto Palace hotel and we are all looking forward to welcoming you in Thessaloniki. Τhe final program of the congress is now available.
The directions to the venue hotel are provided bellow:
From the Airport:
You can take the Bus Line #1X at the Airport to the Aristotle Square, bus stop name Platia Aristotelous (Πλατεία Αριστοτέλους) (~40 minutes), and then, from the same stop, you need to switch to Bus Line #31 (direction towards KTEL) until you get off at Sfagia (Σφαγεία) stop (~15 minutes). Then, there is a 2-minute walk to the Porto Palace Hotel (across the street). Alternatively, you can take a taxi at the airport which will cost approximately 30-40 euros.
From the city:
You can take the Bus Line #31 which transverses the city, with direction towards KTEL, and get off at stop Sfagia (Σφαγεία). Alternatively, you can take a taxi which will cost you approximately 5-8 Euros from the city center.
Please note that you can issue tickets on the bus from an automatic machine (that only accepts coins and does not give change) or you can buy them from various ticket points in the city (https://new.oasth.gr/en/tickets/ticket-outlets/). The regular fare is 0,90 € and the fare for the airport route is 1,80 €.

Third announcement
Dear colleagues,
Regarding the oral presentations they will last 15 minutes in total including 12 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for questions. The presentation should be prepared in a .ppt, .pptx or pdf format. The posters should fit in a 180 cm (height) X 90 cm (width) board. Hanging material will be provided. The registration and abstract submission for the 20th ICVG Conference are now open! Online registration should be performed at https://rc.auth.gr/en/conference/149 and abstracts can be submitted at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. using the provided template (https://icvg2023.gr/index.php/abstract) at the website of the Conference. Please keep in mind that the early-bird registration ends on the 31st of May and abstract submission closes on the 30th of June.
The venue will be hosted at the Hotel Porto Palace in Thessaloniki, Greece on September 25-29, 2023. The program includes a welcoming reception on the 25th of September and an Excursion to Vergina Archeological Site (King Philipp II Tomb) and Ktima Kir-Yianni (Yianakohori, Naoussa) on Thursday Sept. 28, 2023. The talks and poster presentations will be held on the 26th, 27th and 29th of September. Moreover, we are very pleased to announce the following invited speakers: Marc Fuchs, Stefanos Koundouras, Xavier Foissac, Hans Maree, Maher Al Rwahnin and Baozhong Meng.

First Announcement
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the local Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite you to participate at the 20th ICVG Meeting, which will be held at the Hotel Porto Palace in Thessaloniki, Greece on September 25-29, 2023.
The scientific program of the meeting will cover all aspects of grapevine virology research including known and new viruses and virus-like agents and associated diseases, diagnostics, epidemiology, pathogen-host interactions, and control. Talks and poster presentations by scientists from around the world are anticipated to exhibit the most advanced knowledge and pioneering work in the field of grapevine virology research. In addition to invited speakers, talks will be selected from submitted abstracts to assure complete coverage of the latest breakthroughs and cutting-edge advancements.
Full details about the meeting will be announced at the end of January.
